Bottom-ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time defending champion won against eighth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis 71-61. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pioneros Los Mochis' 20. American forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Nick Harney (203-92, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon's coach Ronald Guillen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) responded with 8 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Tracy Parks (185, college: S.Alabama) scored 17 points. Defending champion (3-11) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Mazatlan. Pioneros Los Mochis lost fourth consecutive game. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will meet higher ranked Frayles de Guasave (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Garra Canera de Navolato and hope to secure a win.
