Everything went according to plan when second ranked Fukushima (35-20) beat on the road 4th placed Sendai 89ers (20-37) 86-73 on Saturday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Shota Kanno (187-92) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) with 19 points and 5 assists and South Sudanese-American forward Angelo Chol (206-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Fukushima. They maintain second place with 35-20 record behind leader Akita NH. Sendai 89ers lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 37 games lost. Fukushima will have a break next round. Sendai 89ers will play again at home against the league's second-placed Fukushima (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
