Regular Season Round 35: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 81-88

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Shiga L-Stars' (22-35) road victory over 4th placed Osaka Evessa (23-34) 88-81 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists for the winners. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) added 23 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. Despite that victory Shiga L-Stars went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Osaka Evessa dropped to the third place with 34 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round. Osaka Evessa will play against the league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
