Regular Season Round 8: Mackay M. - Logan T. 92-72

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Logan T. (0-2) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked Mackay Meteors (1-0) 92-72 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and the former international power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Mackay Meteors players scored in double figures. Naturalized British forward Obi Kyei (206-94, college: Eckerd, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Mitch Young (206-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mackay Meteors left bottom position moving up to fourth place in League. Loser Logan T. still closes the standings with two games lost. Mackay Meteors will face league's leader Cairns Marlins on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Logan T. will play against Ipswich Force (#9) in Booval and hopes to get finally their first victory.
