Regular Season Round 22: Proteas - Olympiacos Volou 78-44

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Proteas' (10-12) home victory over 10th ranked Olympiacos Volou (5-17) in Voula 78-44 on Sunday. The game without a history. Proteas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olympiacos Volou to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Proteas dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Olympiacos Volou's 18 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Proteas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Olympiacos Volou's players. Quite impressive performance for American Labrittney Jones (185-95, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Evgenia Kollatou (172-98) contributed with 9 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Ciara Andrews (175-94, college: St.Joseph's) replied with 13 points and her fellow American import power forward Sherise Williams (191-93, college: Mississippi St.) added 5 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Olympiacos Volou. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Proteas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Esperides and Athinaikos. Newly promoted Olympiacos Volou keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost.
