Regular Season Round 27: Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi Haifa 77-75

Twelfth-ranked Maccabi Haifa (7-20) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Hapoel Eilat (14-13) on Sunday. Hapoel Eilat managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. Maccabi Haifa was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-14 charge of Hapoel Eilat, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 8 assists. Forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Reginald Buckner (206-91, college: Mississippi) answered with 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Brandon Bowman (205-84, college: Georgetown) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Haifa. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hapoel Eilat maintains seventh place with 14-13 record. Maccabi Haifa lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Hapoel Eilat will face higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Haifa will play against Ironi Nahariya (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
