Very expected game in Mount Waverley where 12th ranked Stingrays (1-6) were defeated by third ranked Waverley Falcons (5-2) 91-80 on Sunday. Waverley Falcons forced 19 Stingrays turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Timothy Liesting who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and guard Jackson Bentley (188-92) scored 17 points. Stingrays' coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Waverley Falcons moved-up to second place in League. Loser Stingrays keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Waverley Falcons will face Hume City Broncos (#8) in Tullamarine in the next round where they are favorite.
