Rather predictable result in Tullamarine where fifth ranked Eltham Wildcats (5-2) defeated 8th ranked Hume City Broncos (3-4) 87-72 on Sunday. They outrebounded Hume City Broncos 49-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Eltham Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Josh Sykes (203, college: Fresno City CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and center Simon Bradbury (215-89) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Eltham Wildcats' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Trevon Clayton (198, college: Fresno Pacific) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Eltham Wildcats and four Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Eltham Wildcats moved-up to third place in League. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the eighth position with four games lost. Eltham Wildcats will face Casey C. (#7) in Cranbourne in the next round. Hume City Broncos will play at home against the league's second-placed Waverley Falcons and hope to win that game.
