Regular Season Round 58: Bambitious Nara - Kumamoto V. 75-92

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Bambitious Nara (16-41) was defeated at home by second ranked Kumamoto V. (38-19) 92-75 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. forced 19 Bambitious Nara turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) fired 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL, agency: Inception Sports) produced 5 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains second position with 38-19 record having just two point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Bambitious Nara keeps the sixth place with 41 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Bambitious Nara will play on the road against Dragonflies in Hiroshima and hope to win that game.
