Date: April 29, 2018
Serie A top team - Umana Venezia (22-6) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Betaland Cdo (6-22) 104-85. Umana Venezia shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 assists and American forward Austin Daye (211-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Alti Sport) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Umana Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Betaland Cdo. Serbian guard Vojislav Stojanovic (199-97) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Umana Venezia have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-6 record. Loser Betaland Cdo dropped to the bottom. Umana Venezia will meet VL Pesaro (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Betaland Cdo will play against MIA-RO Cantu and hope to secure a win.
