Regular Season Round 35: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 79-61

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Osaka Evessa and 3rd placed Shiga L-Stars had identical 22-34 record. This time Osaka Evessa used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Shiga 79-61 on Sunday night. Osaka Evessa dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 9 points and 8 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Osaka Evessa (23-34) moved-up to third place, which they share with San-en and Toyama Grouses. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the fourth position with 35 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
