Regular Season Round 8: Sunshine CP - NGC Seahawks 106-97

Very expected game in Cotton Tree where bottom-ranked NGC Seahawks (0-2) were defeated by top-ranked Sunshine CP (2-0) 106-97 on Sunday. Sunshine CP looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sunshine CP made 9 blocks. NGC Seahawks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of Roy Booker (191-84, college: SE Missouri St.) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists and guard CJ Massingale (191-82, college: Metro St.) who added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Sunshine CP players scored in double figures. Swingman Jerron Jamerson (193, college: Goshen) responded with 31 points and 9 assists and swingman Quinton Campbell (201-93, college: S.Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Sunshine CP moved-up to second place in League. Newly promoted NGC Seahawks still closes the standings with two games lost. Sunshine CP will face Gladstone Port City Power (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. NGC Seahawks will play against Brisbane Capitals (#11) and hope to get finally their first victory.
