Regular Season Round 30: Joventut - Valencia 77-75

A very close game took place in Badalona (derby !!!) between Joventut and Valencia Basket. Fifteenth ranked Joventut (9-20) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Valencia Basket (20-10). Joventut managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-75. American forward Demitrius Conger (196-90, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) chipped in 7 points and 8 assists during the contest. Joventut's coach Carles Duran used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) scored 19 points. Joventut have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifteenth position with 9-20 record. Defending champion Valencia Basket keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Joventut will meet higher ranked UCAM Murcia (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Valencia Basket will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#10) in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
