Regular Season Round 12: Corinthians - Cerrado 90-55

Liga Ouro top team - Corinthians (12-2) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Cerrado (1-14) in Sao Paulo 90-55. Corinthians dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 28. Corinthians forced 19 Cerrado turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Cerrado's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Humberto Gomes (195-95) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Paulo Da-Costa (191-94) who recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Frederico Lima (183-80) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Corinthians have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Cerrado lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Corinthians will meet at home league's second-placed Sao Jose in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cerrado will have a break next round.
