Rather expected game when 10th ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (3-13) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Frayles de Guasave (8-8) 92-87. Frayles de Guasave players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Jaron Martin (178, college: Cal-Irvine) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Eric Frederick (203-88, college: Texas Wesleyan) contributed with 25 points for the winners. American forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and international center Jose-Israel Gutierrez (206-93) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Halcones de Ciudad Obregon.
