Regular Season Round 28: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel Eilat 81-75

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Hapoel Eilat (14-14) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Hapoel Holon (18-10) 81-75 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 30-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side international swingman Amit Simhon (198-89, agency: Avi Zilberman) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel J-M and Maccabi Ashdod. Loser Hapoel Eilat keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Hapoel Holon will face Ironi Nahariya (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Eilat will play against the league's leader Maccabi T-A and hope to win that game.
