Second Stage Round 6: Ulcinj - Lovcen 84-97

Bottom-ranked Ulcinj (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-84 loss to fourth ranked Lovcen (3-3) in Ulcijn. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Lovcen players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for the former international Aleksa Popovic (201-87) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots). International guard Masan Vrbica (187-94, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Lovcen's coach Dragan Radovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Griffin Ramme (190-89, college: Chapman) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 assists and center Marko Perovic (204-92) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ulcinj. Five Lovcen and four Ulcinj players scored in double figures. Lovcen maintains fourth position with 3-3 record. Ulcinj at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Lovcen will play against league's leader Buducnost in Podgorica in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ulcinj will play on the road against Mornar Bar (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
