Regular Season Round 28: Galil Gilboa - Ironi Nes-Ziona 97-95

Eighth-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (11-17) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Galil Gilboa (16-12) in Rosh Pina on Thursday. Galil Gilboa managed to secure only two-point victory 97-95. However their fans expected easier game. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Nes-Ziona's 36 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 46-34 including 37 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's, agency: 3Eye) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the other American import Zach LeDay (201-94, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 26 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Galil Gilboa's coach Ariel Beit-Halamy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Puerto Rican guard Gary Browne (185-93, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American swingman Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) scored 22 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 16-12 record. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the eighth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Maccabi Rishon. Galil Gilboa are looking forward to face higher ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Bnei Hasharon (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
