There was no surprise when 8th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (5-12) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (9-6) 78-67. Caballeros de Culiacan outrebounded Pioneros Los Mochis 51-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Iranian forward Mike Rostampour (203-91, college: Omaha) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) accounted for 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. American guard Nick Murphy (193-88, college: Jacksonville St.) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Nigerian-American guard George Williams (198-90, college: Wayland Baptist) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Caballeros de Culiacan moved-up to fifth place. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan's next round opponent will be again Pioneros Los Mochis (#8) at home.
