Regular Season Round 9: Perth R. - Stirling S. 82-55

Date: May 4, 2018
Very predictable result in Northbridge where third ranked Redbacks (6-2) outscored 8th ranked Senators (3-6) 82-55 on Friday. Redbacks forced 19 Senators turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Senators' players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Mikayla Pirini (169-96) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. Swingman Jessica Jakens (181-94) chipped in 22 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American center Amber Land (188, college: E.Michigan) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Jasmine Martin (170-93, college: Quinnipiac) added 10 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Redbacks moved-up to second place in League. Loser Senators dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Redbacks will face Slammers (#8) in Bunbury in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Senators will play on the road against Eagles in Morley and hope to win that game.
