Regular Season Round 9: BA CoE - Bendigo B. 91-87

There was a small surprise in Canberra where third ranked BA CoE (4-1) won against leader Bendigo Braves (5-1) 91-87 on Friday. Bendigo Braves were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 27-22 charge of BA CoE, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Alexander Mudronja (193-99) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Daniel Grida (195) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five BA CoE players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) who recorded 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) added 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks respectively. Bendigo Braves' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BA CoE maintains third place in League with 4-1 record having just three point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Bendigo Braves still keep top position with one game lost. BA CoE will face Bandits (#5) in Albury in the next round. Bendigo Braves will play on the road against Tigers (#5) in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
