Regular Season Round 9: BA CoE - Bendigo LB 58-87

Very expected game in Canberra where 8th ranked BA CoE (1-6) was rolled over by leader Lady Braves (5-0) 87-58 on Friday. The game without a history. Lady Braves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lady Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BA CoE's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Gabrielle Richards (191-84, college: Oregon) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Lady Braves' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Isabelle Bourne (186-0) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Isabel Palmer (178-1) added 10 points respectively. Lady Braves maintains first place in League with 5-0 record. Loser BA CoE keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Lady Braves will face Tigers (#4) in Melbourne in the next round. BA CoE will play at home against the league's leader Lady Cobras (#1) and hope to win that game.
