Important game to mention about took place in Ishikawa. Fourth ranked Kanazawa Sam. (27-32) saved a 1-point victory at home edging top-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (46-14) 71-70 on Friday evening. Kanazawa Sam. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds by the former international center Pape Faye (200-87) did not help to save the game for Fukuoka Rizing. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fukuoka Rizing's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. maintains fourth position with 27-32 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost third consecutive game. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
