Regular Season Round 31: Spirou - Leuven 84-63

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Leuven Bears (6-25) were crushed on the road by third ranked Spirou Charleroi (22-9) 84-63 on Friday. Spirou Charleroi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jack Gibbs (183-95, college: Davidson, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Seth Tuttle (203-92, college: N.Iowa) helped adding 13 points. Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. At the losing side Maxime Gaudoux (200-90, agency: Promotex) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Anthony Lambot (185-94, agency: Promotex) scored 9 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spirou Charleroi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Antwerp. Loser Leuven Bears keep the ninth position with 25 games lost. They share it with Liege. Spirou Charleroi will again meet Leuven Bears (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leuven Bears will have a break next round.
