A very interesting game took place in Charleville. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 18th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (6-25) to seventeenth ranked Quimper UJAP (9-22) 113-112 on Friday evening. Quimper UJAP made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Charleville-Mezieres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 assists. American-Nigerian power forward Efe Odigie (203) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Bahamas center Zane Knowles (208-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) added 25 points respectively for Charleville-Mezieres in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Le Havre. Charleville-Mezieres lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Quimper UJAP's next round opponent will be higher ranked ALM Evreux (#10) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Lille Metropole (#6) and hope to win that game.
