Very important is a home loss of second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (10-6) against seventh ranked Frayles de Guasave (9-8) on Friday night. Host Tijuana Zonkeys were defeated by Frayles de Guasave in a tough game in Tijuana 95-101. Frayles de Guasave made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Jaron Martin (178, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) answered with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) added 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tijuana Zonkeys. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 9-8 record. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Navolato. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tijuana Zonkeys will play again at home against Frayles de Guasave and hope to get back on the winning track.
