Regular Season Round 33: Rivas - Quintanar 64-77

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Rivas (13-17) lost at home to twelfth ranked Quintanar (11-19) 77-64 on Saturday. Quintanar made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Quintanar outrebounded Rivas 47-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Khion Sankey (196, college: Lipscomb) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Skyler Burgess (196, college: Pacific) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Daniel Busto (204-92, college: Ohlone CC) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Guillermo Ordas (183-92) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Four Rivas players scored in double figures. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Quintanar moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Lanzarote and Estudio. Loser Rivas keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost.
