Regular Season Round 9: SD Spartans - Gold Coast R. 90-92

Everything went according to plan when leader Rollers (2-0) edged on the road bottom-ranked Brisbane Spartans (0-2) 92-90 on Saturday. Rollers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-96, college: Nebraska) who scored 30 points. American guard Deon Mitchell (186-93, college: N.Iowa) chipped in 22 points and 9 assists. Rollers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Dashawn King (190-92, college: UMKC) who recorded 31 points and 4 assists and forward Will Magnay (208-98, college: Tulsa) added 17 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Five Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. Rollers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Brisbane Spartans still closes the standings with two games lost. Rollers will face league's second-placed Sunshine CP in Cotton Tree in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brisbane Spartans will play on the road against Logan T. (#9) in Loganholme and look forward to get finally their first victory.
