The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Lady Bandits' (3-4) home loss to sixth ranked Ballarat Rush (2-3) 74-83 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lady Bandits won fourth quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ballarat Rush made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Courtney Williams (185-94, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Courtney Walker (173-94, college: Texas A&M) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ballarat Rush players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Emilee Harmon (188, college: Ohio St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and Molly Rice added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Ballarat Rush moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Lady Bandits keep the seventh position with four games lost. Ballarat Rush will face Sabres (#5) in Cheltenham in the next round. Lady Bandits will play at home against Tornadoes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
