Very expected game in Floreat where 8th ranked Lightning (4-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Hawks (6-4) 99-82 on Saturday. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lightning's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Lochlan Cummings (189-95, college: Hope International) chipped in 29 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. Hawks' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) who recorded 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Despite that victory Hawks went down to sixth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Lightning dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. Hawks will face Slammers (#13) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lightning will play on the road against the league's leader Wanneroo (#1) in Joondalup and hope to win that game.
