Very important is a road loss of second ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (7-1) against fifth ranked Sydney City Comets (5-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Manly Warringah Sea Eagles were defeated by Sydney City Comets in a tough game in Alexandria 64-72. Sydney City Comets outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 49-35 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Tom Dawson (197) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Canadian point guard Will Hickey (183) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and Abe Bulgin added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sydney City Comets maintains fifth place in League with 5-3 record. Loser Manly Warringah Sea Eagles keep the second position with one game lost. Sydney City Comets will face Sutherland Sharks (#6) at home in the next round.
