Rather predictable result in Albury where second ranked Ballarat Miners (4-1) outscored 4th placed Bandits (3-4) 117-82 on Saturday. The game without a history. Ballarat Miners led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Ballarat Miners shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Marvin King-Davis (201-93, college: Delaware) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Peter Hooley (193-92, college: Albany) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Deba George (183-85) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Ballarat Miners and four Bandits players scored in double figures. Ballarat Miners maintains second place in League with 4-1 record having just three point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Bandits dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Ballarat Miners will face Sabres (#7) in Cheltenham in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bandits will play at home against BA CoE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
