Rather expected game in Sippy Downs where bottom-ranked Gladstone Port City Power (0-2) was rolled over by eighth ranked Sunshine CR (2-1) 117-76 on Saturday. Sunshine CR outrebounded Gladstone Port City Power 57-36 including a 41-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gladstone Port City Power's players. Gladstone Port City Power was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Lance Hurdle (188-87, college: Miami, FL) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Louis Ilton (191, college: Texas A&M Int.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Sunshine CR will face South West Metro Pirates (#6) in Runcorn in the next round. Gladstone Port City Power will play at home against Toowoomba Mountaineers (#14) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
