Regular Season Round 9: Sunshine CR - Gladstone PCP 89-63

There was a small surprise in Sippy Downs where fourteenth ranked Sunshine CR (1-2) outleveled bottom-ranked Power (0-2) 89-63 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Sunshine CR especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Leah Scott (183-93, college: Marshall) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Carlie Smith chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Ashleigh Kelman-Poto (181-91, college: N.Idaho JC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds and Canadian forward Jennifer Mathurin (185, college: N.Carolina St.) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Sunshine CR left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in League. Loser Power still closes the standings with two games lost. Sunshine CR will face higher ranked Pirates (#3) in Runcorn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Power will play at home against Mountaineers (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
