Regular Season Round 9: NGC Seahawks - Brisbane C. 87-138
Date: May 5, 2018
Not a big story in a game in Runaway Bay where bottom-ranked NGC Seahawks (0-3) were outplayed by tenth ranked Brisbane Capitals (1-1) 138-87 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals forced 24 NGC Seahawks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by NGC Seahawks' players. NGC Seahawks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Brandon Davis (183, college: Alaska-Fairb.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 8 steals. Guard Jacob Davis (189-95) chipped in 31 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Quinton Campbell (201-93, college: S.Mississippi) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Jerron Jamerson (193, college: Goshen) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Capitals left bottom position moving up to eighth place in League. Newly promoted NGC Seahawks still closes the standings with three games lost. Brisbane Capitals will face Ipswich Force (#12) in Booval in the next round. NGC Seahawks will play at home against the league's second-placed Sunshine CP where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
