Not a big story in a game in Seaford where 8th ranked Frankston Blues (1-6) were outplayed by sixth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (3-3) 100-75 on Saturday. The game without a history. Mount Gambier Pioneers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was naturalized British forward Lewis Thomas (203-92, college: W.Oregon) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Tim Coenraad (201-85, college: Nova SE) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American swingman Bennie Lewis (203-87, college: Benedict) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Aaron Ross (203-92, college: Texas Tech) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Mount Gambier Pioneers and four Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Frankston Blues keep the eighth position with six games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will face league's second-placed Spectres in East Burwood in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Frankston Blues will play on the road against Chargers (#3) in Hobart and hope to win that game.
