NM1 top team - Gries/Oberhoffen (31-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Souffelweyersheim (16-18) in Bischwiller 114-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. Gries/Oberhoffen shot 63.6 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 58.1 percentage. Gries/Oberhoffen looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Souffelweyersheim's players. Spanish forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) notched 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Spanish guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) supported him with 15 points and 9 assists. Five Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by Antony Labanca (192-94) did not help to save the game for Souffelweyersheim. Point guard Theo Diehl (192-94) added 13 points and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gries/Oberhoffen have an impressive nine-game winning streak.
