Regular Season Round 9: Sutherland S. - Maitland M. 69-83

There was an upset when higher ranked Sutherland Sharks (4-4) were defeated at home by ninth ranked Maitland Mustangs (2-6) 83-69 on Saturday. Maitland Mustangs dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sutherland Sharks' 42. They outrebounded Sutherland Sharks 47-36 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Daniel Millburn who scored 24 points. Jack Edwards chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Themistocles Pantzouris who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jeff Van-Dyke (188-95, college: Cal-San Diego) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sutherland Sharks' coach let to play eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maitland Mustangs maintains ninth place in League with 2-6 record. Loser Sutherland Sharks dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Maitland Mustangs will have a break next round.
