Very expected game in Rethymno where 14th ranked Aiolos Trikallon (3-21) was rolled over by ninth ranked Cretan Kings (9-15) 103-67. The game without a history. Cretan Kings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aiolos Trikallon's 32. They outrebounded Aiolos Trikallon 44-15 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cretan Kings players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Aiolos Trikallon's players. The winners were led by American power forward Anthony Lee (206-91, college: Ohio St., agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and naturalized Cypriot Andreas Christodoulou (197-95) supported him with 17 points. Cretan Kings' coach Nikos Vetoulas felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 22 points and 6 assists by American guard Earvin Morris (196-94, college: UTEP) did not help to save the game for Aiolos Trikallon. Point guard Filippos Kalogiannidis (192-94) added 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five Cretan Kings and four Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. Cretan Kings moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Aris and Kolossos HH. Aiolos Trikallon lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Cretan Kings' next round opponent will be Aris (#10) in Thessaloniki. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against Kolossos HH (#9) and hope to win that game.
