No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Lavrio (14-10) smashed at home 11th ranked G.Larissa-Faros (8-16) 77-55. The game without a history. Lavrio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American guard McKenzie Moore (198-92, college: UTEP) who scored that evening 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Tony Meier (204-90, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) supported him with 18 points. Four Lavrio players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) did not help to save the game for G.Larissa-Faros. Point guard Nontas Papantoniou (190-90) added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lavrio moved-up to fifth place, which they share with AEK. G.Larissa-Faros lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Lavrio's next round opponent will be higher ranked Promitheas (#3) in Patras and it may be quite challenging game. G.Larissa-Faros will play at home against the league's second-placed Olympiacos (#2) and hope to win that game.
