Regular Season Round 9: Hobart C. - Geelong S. 92-86

Everything went according to plan in Hobart where third ranked Chargers (4-2) won against 5th ranked Geelong Supercats (2-3) 92-86 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 28-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Chargers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Geelong Supercats' 36. Chargers forced 19 Geelong Supercats turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Craig Moller (203-94, agency: MKP Management) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Tre Nichols (180-89, college: Boise St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists. Five Chargers players scored in double figures. Chargers' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) who recorded 18 points and American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Chargers maintains third place in League with 4-2 record having just four point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Geelong Supercats dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Chargers will face Frankston Blues (#8) in Seaford in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Geelong Supercats will play at home against Diamond Valley Eagles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
