Regular Season Round 37: Shimane SM - Yokohama BC 66-77

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (18-42) defeated on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (11-49) 77-66 on Sunday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Shimane Magic was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Shimane Magic's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Yokohama BC maintains sixth place with 18-42 record which they share with defeated Shimane Magic. Newly promoted Shimane Magic keeps the sixth position with 49 games lost.
