Second Stage Round 8: Tokyo Cinq R. - Kagoshima 77-98

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kagoshima (8-8) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-15) 98-77 on Sunday. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Tokyo Cinq R.'s players. American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) replied with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR, agency: Court Side) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima maintains fourth position with 8-8 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Kagoshima will face league's second-placed Tokyo Excel. on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo HT.
