There was no surprise in Tullamarine where 8th ranked Hume City Broncos (3-5) were crushed by third ranked Waverley Falcons (6-2) 89-57 on Sunday. Waverley Falcons held Hume City Broncos to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Waverley Falcons had a 40-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Chris Arkell (198-90) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Waverley Falcons' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Trevon Clayton (198, college: Fresno Pacific) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized British guard Lee Jeka (193-83) added 10 points respectively. Waverley Falcons moved-up to second place in League. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the eighth position with five games lost. Waverley Falcons will face Keilor T. (#10) in Melbourne in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hume City Broncos will play on the road against Blackburn V. in Melbourne and hope to win that game.
