An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Fukushima. Second ranked Fukushima faced much higher ranked Cyberdyne IR. Host Fukushima (38-22) defeated guests from Tsukuba (38-22) 87-83. Fukushima made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) responded with 34 points (!!!) and American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Fukushima maintains second place with 38-22 record behind leader Akita NH, which they share with defeated Cyberdyne IR.
