Round 29 in Winner League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Eilat where host Hapoel Eilat (15-14) beat league's leader Maccabi T-A (19-10) 74-69 on Monday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Eilat outrebounded Maccabi T-A 38-27 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals. Hapoel Eilat's coach Sharon Drucker used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Hapoel Eilat maintains seventh place with 15-14 record. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Hapoel Holon who have the same record. Maccabi T-A will play next round against Ironi Nahariya trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hapoel Eilat will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem on the road.
