There was no surprise when 12th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (14-18) was defeated at home by seventh ranked JSF Nanterre (18-14) 85-81. The guests were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 32-20 last quarter charge of Gravelines-Dunkerque cut the lead to 85-81 at the end of the game. JSF Nanterre shot 27 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Gravelines-Dunkerque only scored nine points from the stripe. 29 personal fouls committed by Gravelines-Dunkerque helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds.
