Regular Season Round 25: Aris - Cretan Kings 70-52

Everything could happen in Thessaloniki at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Aris and 8th ranked Cretan Kings had identical 9-15 record. This time Aris used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Rethymno 70-52. It looked good early as Cretan Kings took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aris took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 18 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Cretan Kings' 16. International point guard Eleftherios Bochoridis (193-94) stepped up and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-86) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Shaquille Goodwin (206-94, college: Memphis) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Travis Daniels (202-92, college: Mississippi St.) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aris. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Kolossos HH. Cretan Kings at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. Aris will play against Kolossos HH (#8) in Rodou in the next round. Cretan Kings will play at home against Panionios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
