Regular Season Round 32: Monaco - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 85-86

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Monaco (24-8) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (17-15) 86-85. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Monaco. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 48-42 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Elie-Franck Okobo (188-97) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) who added 19 points during the contest. Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Ukrainian swingman Sergii Gladyr (196-88, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez and five Monaco players scored in double figures. Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bourg. Monaco at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez is looking forward to face Boulazac Basket (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monaco will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
