Regular Season Round 33: Denain - Vichy Clermont 78-65

There was no surprise when 12th ranked JA Vichy (14-19) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Denain Voltaire (16-17) 78-65. The game was mostly controlled by Denain Voltaire. JA Vichy was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for point guard Pierric Poupet (192-84) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. Power forward Jerome Cazenobe (203-89) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Four Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Denain Voltaire's coach Remy Valin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St., agency: 3Eye) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for JA Vichy. Denain Voltaire moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Evreux and Rouen. JA Vichy at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Denain Voltaire's next round opponent will be Poitiers (#16) on the road and are hoping to win another game. JA Vichy will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#3) and hope to win that game.
